Stacy...there are big grocery stores in OC with delis. Don't worry...there is a HUGE year round community there, you just can't SEE them in the summer since most don't live in town but in communities surrounding the town.

Here is the tentative Food schedule for OC GTG. Please look it over and let me know if you have any changes, ideas, suggestions. The plan is to have all the wrinkles ironed out by Oct. 15th so everyone will know what to bring and what day to serve. If you have a change of plans and can’t make it, please let me know ASAP so we can make adjustments. I’ve arranged to have 5 entrees, 4 sides, and 3 desserts; if anyone wants to bring something more, feel free. We are presently expecting 30-32 people, so if each person makes enough to feed 8, we’ll have enough without too many leftovers. Friday we’ll probably eat around 7pm, Saturday around 5-6pm. Everyone brings their own beverages: juice, wine, soda, etc.

Just saw this, sorry I've been slow to get back to the thread. So I need to come up with a side dish for Friday? I'll figure something out, and get back to you tonight or tomorrow. And do we need another for Saturday night, or more desserts?

Dawn, any kind of salad-type thing for Friday night will be great, (3 bean? veggie?)whatever you can pull off. The two people who are listed for Saturday night's side dishes are doing two sides, so you are welcome to bring any more sides or desserts you want. Whatever works best for you. We are just so glad you can come!

Donna,
I know I'm listed for another side dish, but would chicken corn noodle soup fit that category? My mom offered to make that.

YES, Stacy, that would be wonderful!!!

Rachel, I'm so sorry we won't get to see you. Sending you virtual hugs, and hope you can make it next year!

I'll take something...just waiting to see what everyone else is taking and then Donna and I will figure out what's needed. :)

I still have a LOT of plates, plastic flatware, cups left over from last year, so I'll definitely take those. And the Halloween Tablecloth. haha

And the Twister game we never used but I swear we're going to this year! :)

Also...what about disposable bowls?

It looks like we will need disposable bowls, good catch! Do you think you have enough paper goods and plasticware for both nights? If so, we're good for that. I'll be bringing some coffee filters, so I won't be begging them off everyone else this year (my room was out of them), so if anyone finds their room is out of coffee filters, you'll know where to find me!
