Well, I am tired of trying to control the mud in the yard. I couldn't grow grass so the whole yard is now river rock. UGH ..That turned into a nightmare as Brogan marks all over, kicks it around, poops and kicks it around. So he tore up huge sections of the yard. The weeds are aweful in the summer. Not to mention it's not very comfy to walk on for any one of us.

SOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Omg it's not cheap but I think the best solution. I'm just gonna do it damn it.

FAKE GRASS!!!

Got an estimate and saw the sample. Looks and feels like real grass and pet safe.

I will take before and after pics but in case you want to see it....

That's is what I have. here ...just different color. Brogan kicks it up ..tore up the weed mesh. I can't deal with the gravel and mud anymore.

( check/trim their pads regurally. Not seen by the naked eye. After I spent a ton of money on Xrays to fine the cause of his limp. The gravel actually got caught in his paw.

The house I rent is a concrete backyard, could be prettier, but it is the easiest to clean ... I am going to put out planters and stuff to try to pretty it up this year!

Hmmmm... That is too bad.. I can't envision Murphy tearing up the gravel. It is quite thick and heavy. I wish you luck though.. Keep us posted..

Patty.....can't wait to see the end result!! Do they put down weed mesh under the "grass"? And how does the grass stay down? I've always wondered that!!

What size space are you having done?

Ok....enough questions. Will be watching for the pics of the new grass!

I can see how gravel (the heavy stuff) would hurt to walk on it. We have it in our driveway near the side door to the kitchen and they HATE walking on it - they'll cross over to the grassy side. I've been out without shoes (I used to always go barefoot) and it's a killer! I'm sure Brogan and Akira will be thanking you!

Donna.. I started by killing the remaining grass that Murphy had missed. (LOLL ) Then I laid down the weed mesh barrier thingy before applying the stones.,The stones are 1/2 inch round and do not appear to bother Murphy's feet. Peter actually said it helps strengthen his legs. It is pretty easy picking up the waste and I immediately hose off any residue. Sprinkle some salt down to sanitize periodically. It is so much cleaner than when we had the dead saturated grass.
I have the same questions about the fake grass re keeping it clean etc.
Can't wait to see it.
