One more thing, though, about fertilizer: my friend's black Lab got into a neighbor's yard and ate some fertilizer and sadly, did not survive. This was 16 years ago so I'm sure fertilizer is safer, and I don't recall if it was a pellet-type fertilizer or spray on. Don't mean to cause unnecessary worry, just a head's up.
