Feeling Guilty

It is in the triple digits here in Utah...it has been for quite awhile now...my babies are sequestered in the basement all by themselves with a floor fan blowing on them. I feel so guilty as they aren't getting much if any attention now since it is so hot they don't go outside only to pee and poop. I have been trying to give them special treats as frozen bananas and frozen watermellon so they at least know mommy loves them. What do you guys do for your babies when it gets this miserable out?

It's been pretty nasty here for the last few weeks. The temp is in the 90's but the humidity has the heat index up in the 100-110 range. My two are enjoying puzzles indoor training. We're playing with nose work games. It cooled enough Saturday we were able to get some water training in for Taver.
For a treat I bought a couple bags of ice and put it in a baby pool. That was a hit for the 15 mins it lasted.
Someone seriously needs to turn the a/c on!

Why can't they be upstairs? When it's this hot they don't want or need a lot of exercise. My girl plants herself in front of a fan on the tile floor. I also cut her hair as short as possible. It makes a big difference.

It is too hot for them upstairs...we live in a canyon with forests all around us but we don't have air conditioning...so it still gets hot in the house and they prefer to be in the cool basement with the fan on them. I guess I am just worrying too much...I miss my fur kids around me...but I hope it will start cooling off soon...I can't take this heat much longer myself.

I remember when we lived in Cleveland with no air conditioning. It was so hot in the summer. Our first Newf, Caesar, was 9 when we moved to Florida. I was so worried the heat would be hard on him. On the contrary, he loved it because we had air conditioning. He thought it was the greatest thing ever, and lived to be 14.
Caesar used to enjoy laying in a kiddie pool in the summer in Cleveland.
Now Dublin has a lovely full sized pool in the backyard, but he doesn't like water. He just hangs out in the ac until his evening walk.
I hope you get a break from the heat soon!
