Feeding puppies...

My lil baby is almost 5 months old and I am just wondering at what age did you stop feeding 3 times a day?

I stopped once I noticed Thor was not eatting his lunch. I think we stopped once he was about 6 months.

It was around 5 months when I stopped Owain's lunch.

I stopped when Suki was about 1 1/2 years. She was getting hungry before lunch time and pawing at her bowl. So I made breakfast and dinner bigger and dropped lunch (without changing the amount of food) and that seemed to satisfy her. I don't know why I did it for so long. I figured it was working and smaller meals might mean less of a chance of bloat. But this works for us now ... lol.

Probably 6 - 8 months. But I made sure there was fresh water and a Milkbone (or similar) treat around lunch, just to head off tummy grumbles, at least for a few months.

I guess since we're feeding raw, it's a little different, as Tigger still gets a Turkey Neck as a afternoon snackie (Boy try not giving her one - LOL).

Tiika still eats 4x/day and always has - breakfast, raw bone for lunch, supper, raw bone for bedtime.

I think around 7 months we stopped.

Thanks everyone! I think I waill wait another month or so then maybe just give her a snack in the afternoon for a few months or forever, whichever she prefers!

You could also just shorten the lunchtime portion and see how she does. But she'll let you know. We also stopped when Moose just wasn't eating it, or he'd have a few nibbles and wander away.

5.5 months and still getting a lunch - think he'd be very upset if we stopped! :s
