Elbow surgery

I have a 9 month old newf we had to have arthroscopic surgery on his elbows(elbow dysphasia) and it’s been 3 weeks. He’s still limping pretty bad, the surgeon said he has fluid on them. Has anyone else had this done? If so when will he start feeling better. Thank you for any replies. Eric,

My boy had this done and almost immediately you could see the difference.within one week he was his normal self.

Try to rest him in case he's aggravating it but TBH l would want to know why he still has swelling and fluid build up by now

I'm with Victoria on this, why the fluid buildup and what can they do about it?
Let us know how he is doing.
I had 2 Newfs needing surgery on elbows for bone chips, and neither had fluid buildup.

I'm not sure if it would be the same healing as a torn ACL. When Samantha had surgery on her ACL she got fluid in it. The Dr said she was being too active. Also when Emi was spayed she got fluid and my vet said the same thing. Could it be that he is being too active?

I have another appointment March 19 he’s doing a little better. We had a tuff couple of weeks. We also had to put down Crosby our 12 year old newf. My kids grew up with him and Moto wasn’t him self. So I went out and got a 14 week old Landseer (Dozer) he’s awesome it’s unbelievable how happy he made everybody. I know it wasn’t the smartest thing to do. We just have to try to keep Moto from running around. Thank you for the replies and I will let you guys know what the surgeon says after the appointment.

I am so sorry you lost Crosby. Welcome to Dozer, love the name.
Good luck with the surgeon visit.
