This is my Big question of the day.Do i give the food dry, or do I soak it ? Sounds so simple, but it is driving me nuts. Any help here would be greatly appreicated !

I answered you in the other section, Sherry. But I'm glad you moved your question here, since we were getting a little off the track there.
But basically there are varied opinions. I do not wet food since I think it is better for the teeth, but many do. See what kind of responses you get here, then you can make your own judgement on this issue. ;)

Thanks Lynn....I will see what kind of feed back I get on the subject. Today I have given it to them dry, and they seem fine with it. I had been soaking it, but have noticed their stools were a bit loose.Do you ever add any canned food to the dry ? I need to make up my mind here so I can get on with my feeding without all this worry. Thanks again...

I personally do not add canned food to the kibble, Sherry, but a lot of people do. So try it and see how it is going. You can adjust as you go along.

Hi Sherry
I don't add water to Jakes food he eats Wellness kibble, I do however as Karen says add yogurt in his morning feed, a veggie juice in his lunch feed and sometimes add makeral sp? to his evening food. He gets 1 cup kibble per meal and I also add frozen veggies for fillers through the day. Jake is 10 months now, but even when he was a pup I didn't add water to the kibble.

It is funny this came up because I have always moistened Brady's food but Tim prefers to eat his dry. So I guess I will stop with the broth. I also add some kind of fish to one of the meals either sardines or salmon along with veggies and yogurt to one meal. We have switched to Flint River Ranch.

Thanks for all the help ! I hate to sound dumb here, but could you be more specific, and tell me, is the salmon canned or fresh, and how much do you give ? also how much yougart is everyone adding to the food, and....how much veggys ? Do the amounts differ according to the age of the puppy ? my pups are 8 weeks old.One last question, I saw that science diet has come out with an "all natural, with vegs, baked food" does anyone have any feed back on this ?Thanks to all of you that are trying to help !

Never feed raw fish of anykind. If we give some fresh salmon it has been baked or poached with no spices. Just plain. It's a very rich food, so we don't give much. If I poach I always safe the broth and freeze it! Then you can make treats from it or just put some on the kibble for a treat! But we live in an area where salmon can be fresh! As far as the canned, , I wouldn't know!
