Dropping in to say Hello & Owen update

I just wanted to say hello. I haven't ben very active on the forum in the last 9 months or so but wanted to update you all on Owen. Since Owen's diagnosis of hip dysplasia (last April) He has been doing pretty well. He hasn't had any major "painful" episodes in the last 8 months. He's on glucosamine and pain meds as needed. Surgery is still an option, but not a great one considering the severity of the displasia and the fact that both hips are equally affected. I want to thank all of you again for your wonderful advice and your well wishes and prayers. It meant a lot. Please continue to send those healing thoughts to Owen. It seems to be working.
I hope you all have a wonderful Holiday and Thanks again!

It's so wonderful to hear from you Kelly. I've thought about you and Owen quite often. I will continue to keep you both in my prayers.

BTW, I deal with an Herbalist by the name of Marina Zacharias. I've gone to her mainly for advice on the dogs but I've used her for a few of my issues as well. She's wonderful and she may have something that may make Owen more comfortable and give him a bit more mobility. Marina runs the Natural Rearing website. www.naturalrearing.com

Hope you all have a wonderful Holiday.

Glad to hear that Owen is doing great! I love to hear on this forum about dysplasic dogs that avoid surgery. Do you swim him in the winter? Have you thought about gold beads for him? We had gold beads put into Kuma (severe bilateral hip displasia) and I don't think she has had a "bad" day since  !
