Does your Newf Remind you of anyone

There was a thread on Newf-L earlier this week, and it was fun, so I thought I'd bring it to Newf Net.

The topic: If your Newf was a person, who would it be? I have chosen to use TV characters to base my answers on:

Cora: should be from the south... she is a true steel magnolia, and is Aunt Bea from the Andy Griffith show. She is the Grand Dame of the house.. and is quite matronly. She can give you a look, that leaves little doubt what she thinks.. a soft smile if she's happy, a giggle if she's silly and a stern frown if she is displeased!

Kira: Even though she doesn't have one bit of red hair, she's "Lucy" through and through. She's adorable, and just wants everyone to be happy. But she's always in the middle of everything and always gets in over her head. And when something goes wrong, she yodels and barks to let the whole world know!

Ben: is a combination of Barney Fife (from the Andy Griffith Show) and Kramer (from Seinfeld). He enters and exits every room like Kramer, and patrols the yard like Barney Fife would, and would be very eager to make an arrest. And yes, his bullets have been removed.

Yelda is tough. She is our most naughty girl, she moves like a cat, and she's fast. She can scale a 6 foot chain link fence in under a minute and tries the patience of a saint. But there's an endearing quality about it... you just have to get close enough to see it. So, I'm thinking that she is most like Catwoman from the Batman TV series... played by Eartha Kitt.

And yes, I am dating myself! I grew up watching TV in the late 60's and early 70's!!!

So, for those of you have Newfs or other pets for that matter, do they remind you of anyone; perhaps a TV character, or a Movie Character, or a real-life person or celebrity? If so, please share your thoughts

Gigi would be Zaza Gabor,shes such a sweet , prissy girl.Her attitude is so la ti da and her nature kind, welcoming but uppity

Gunther would be Patrick Swayze,he loves to dance,has that stiff hiny walk,and is just as much a lovebug and a flirt as he is a bore butt...lol

Gerik (Mas piigyluv)is Jackie Gleason..hes comical,loving and just plain silly in an aloof sorta way.Hes the behinds the scenes instigator and always ready to run and say see mom see how they are,I'm the good boy and the favorite huh?

Garrett,,hmm hes a tuffy..He is like Opie from andy Griffith..young,shy but very smart. Lovable and Dorky.(dear Lords dont tell hubby I said hes Dorky)lol..Garrett in all his spirit and majesty still is a Pyr acting like a newf.

Koda is my Dennis the Menace Newf:
He's always into everything that he's not supposed to be in but he's got a look that just makes ya melt so you can't be mad at him.

Determined and unsinkable for sure. She works to protect her adopted siblings.

Nash - The Hillbilly Bear Newf:
With his flat head and his boo boo lip, he has always reminded me of the Hillbilly Bear cartoons.

And last but not least Sassy Cassy:
Cassie is loud and boisterous at times and full of spunk with a touch of class about her which makes me think of Bette Midler!

Gloria would be a combination of Aunt Bea from Mayberry and Raquel Welch (as she is now - still glamorous yet "of a certain age") - sort of a cougar in modern parlance! Example - She flirts shamelessly with the young Dr. next door. His hours are really weird. She waits and waits for him -nose to the fence, doe-eyed and head tilted. He responds by giving her biscuits every single day!! No kidding, I see both personalities in her! Great thread, Annie!!

Even though we've only been graced with her presence since last Sunday, I don't want to leave Sadie Rose out.

Sadie didn't come with any toys but the people who relinquished her sent a red blanket along that is Sadie's favorite. She bunches it up between her paws, will put her mouth on it and fall asleep that way.

I really haven't been around her long enough to give a true picture but what comes to mind is:

Roger would be Clint Eastwood..Calm, Cool & Collective, but ready to spring into action at a moments notice.
At this point in his life, Merlin would be Jim Carrey...High strung, energetic, devious, funny, and lives by facial expressions. Let's see what adulthood brings him..

Beau has to be Dennis the Menace

He's always getting into trouble whether he intends to or not.

Sassy has to be Snow White, the grand matriarch, beautiful, wants everyone to be happy, but rules with an iron paw.

Apache would be David Hasselhoff. Wants to save everyone, happy go lucky, cuddly and has a smoochie

face.

What a neat idea. The first thing that came to my mind about Jordan was Columbo. Even though he can be pretty goofy, he's quite clever about getting what he wants. He just has this way of looking at you...

So this took me awhile to come up with because Cleo has so many looks and attitudes. But I think these two are her most common ones.
The first character she reminds me of is Gladys Kravitz. She was the nosy neighbor on the TV show Bewitched.

Cleo feels her main job is to be in the front yard and watch everyone who comes and goes from are cul-de-sac, and if they are a next door neighbor they get a bark greeting from her
The second person she reminds me of is Chris Hansen host of NBC’s Catch a Predator.

Anytime someone comes to the house she walks into the front room just like he does same sort of attitude and with a strut. And then she does rapid fire barking at them, kind of like the way he asks the men all those questions right away. She does this to everyone even if they have been to the house many times before. If the person then pets her she lets them come all the way into the house, but if they are intimidated they tend to leave early just like those men on the show, except we don’t have the cops waiting.
She has reminded me of so many different people over the years but this is her current phase.

These are great guys! It's funny imagining the dogs characters with the descriptions; Columbo, Glady's Kravitz, Robin Williams! Well, all of them.

Tug: I think I see the resemblance!

Lol, I see the resemblance too!

It was hard for me to narrow it down, I think my Newfs have multiple personalities like Sybil

but I'll be kind.

Nellie is a cross between Miss Piggy & Elmer Fudd.. Just like Miss Piggy, Nellie is very sassy and independent while desperately trying to be glamourous, but the silly girl has an instinct to take down anyone that stands in her way. Elmer Fudd? She's always hunting for those wascally wabbits and never seems to catch them!!

Now don't tell Tucker this, but he reminds me of Doris Day (I even used her teeth for Tucker in my avatar). He's bubbly, and sweet, everyone loves him when they meet him. Doris has a non-stop smile, Tucker wags his tail non-stop, I'm sure that's his way of smiling at everyone. I should have named him Allears, because he is *all ears*, lol. For that reason and because he's always by my side, he's my little, bitty hero, too. He thinks I need 24 hour protection.... Mighty Mouse in a black fur coat!

Murphy is a cast of characters rolled into one. Nothing really ever phases Murphy, he's a lot like Droopy Dog. A totally unassuming good guy that lulls everyone into a false sense of security, then BAM(!)... he always triumphs in the end.

He kind of looks like Droppy Dog too, doesn't he? John Wayne because Murphy is a big ol' sweetheart, but often takes on the role of sheriff at the dog park, he's soft and tough at the same time. But mostly he reminds me of the Beav. Often precocious, but never mean-spirited & loves to have FUN....cue the music! I LOVE that theme song!
