If you are looking for something new to do with your newf the Dock Diving season is getting into full swing. Here in the Chicago area we have two events plan one in Rockford over Memorial Day weekend and the other one in Libertyville, IL July 7-10. Bristles and maybe Faith are doing both. Check out events in your area at www.dockdogs.com or contact me. It is great fun and the dogs have a blast just ask Bristles.:new_smilie_colors1:

Rockford's just an hour from Madison...I dont suppose they permit canine spectators?? Would definitely consider if we could bring Lewis along.

Lewis is most definitely welcome to come as is anyone who just wants to have a good time. The price is right as there is no admission fee. There are usually bleachers set up for sitting but make sure to bring water. Also make sure you stop by and say hi just look for Bristles and/or Faith and I am the person standing next to them. They kind of stand out from the labs, goldens and all the other sporting dogs.

Maybe if we're not busy that weekend, we could swing by the Libertyville event. That's only an hour and 15 minutes or so from me...

The Libertyville event is a fun event the whole town goes to the dogs that weekend with vendors, animal blessings and the resturants even having special doggie menus. We even have a newbie night scheduled for those who have never tried the sport but would like. Hope to see you there.

We are really close to the Jefferson Country Fairgrounds in North Vernon, IN. We were talking about going, but weren't sure if they would allow the 4-legged spectators. Now that we know, we may try to attend! :D

You might just want to check with the venue or local club as some venue's only allow those dogs who are competeing in. Especially if the competition is part of a large event such as a county or state fair. Did not mean to mislead. I was responding to the two events mention above. Both welcome 4 legged spectators.

It is a blast just ask Bristles. Other than water work this is her favorite thing to do. No work, no thinking just pure fun.

We had a blast this weekend at the ChicagoLand Dock Dogs event in Rockford desipte a 3 hour rain delay on Sunday. Bristles had a blast with her best jump of the weekend being 12'8". Little Faith found everything very exciting. She was up on the dock and even went in off the ramp for a couple of laps. She thought it was great fun. Now it is on to Libertyville in July.

Just curious about something. Does she run down the ramp then jump! Seen it on TV and it looks fun.
Good job Bristles and Faith for joining everyone and getting your picture in the paper!
Hopefully the weathers not as hot as it was last year? Would defiantly like to see what goes on since Morgan has no problem jumping off piers.

The dogs run down the dock and jumps into the pool. For Bristles I set her at the half way mark of 20 feet. More than that and she starts to slow down. She just loves it. She was so excited on her first jump she was in the water before I even threw the toy. Think she just wanted an extra jump in that since I did not throw the toy the jump did not count and we got to do it again. Faith had a blast as well and after her first time was very excited to get up on the dock and play. The ramp is for getting out of the pool or in the case of a newbie like Faith we allow them to enter the water just so they know that it is a pool. If they go off the ramp the jump does not count, but it helps build up confidence. We had a great weekend even with the rains. Hope to see you in Libertyville
