Clifford's wearing the cone

Clifford's surgery today for his entropion went well, no problems. I know it is very minor surgery, but it always worries me when they have to anesthetize. He was done with surgery back at noon, I brought him home at 3pm and he is still very groggy and wobbly. He looks so pitiful. Once he feels better this will be good for lots of extra treats. He's suppose to wear the cone for 2 weeks just so he doesn't scratch his eye. Right now he runs into everything, I'm hoping it will be a little better tomorrow when he is more alert. This is on the only eye he can see out of so don't want any more damage done to it.

Chumley told me all the cool dogs wear cones

Oh poor boy, you look so miserable but I'm sure the worst is over and you will get lots of sympathy and treats for the next couple of weeks.

I'm so glad to hear all went well. Keeping you guys in my thoughts and prayers. (let's hope he heals quickly cause Clifford doesn't need the cone of shame!) Give him a extra treat or two from me!

AWww Clifford. I had no idea this was coming. Chum bucket vomited lots of water right after I got him home, then it was just sleep and more sleep. Well, he drank alot too which gets water in their cone. That caused a problem. He's now itching like crazy under his jaw (where all the water went). I dried it up real good and put gold bond on it, trying to prevent an infection. I've been chasing him everytime he drinks and wiping his mush to keep humidity out of the cone. My sister said her Bassett got an ear infection from the cone at the end of the 2nd week, so keep those ears clean. Good Luck!

Thanks, I already had his cone off this morning with him on a leash so I could clean up the cone and his fur. I think he vomited some in it too. I hadn't thought about the ears, I'll keep an eye on that too.
wish we could use the soft cone like you have for Chumley, but the vet said he would still be able to rub on his eye too much.

I think you look great, especially given the fact you just had surgery, Clifford. And I'm a huge sucker for LPT (lLttle Pink Tongue poking out) photos. So cute, even if a little pitiful. Hope you're feeling better in no time!
