cleaning ears

I think I asked this question already, but have no idea where I asked it. Probably in the obedience section. Sorry, I will do better. Suggestions on what I can clean Brady's ears with? I have been using these "ear wipes" but they are definately a waste of money. The wipes themselves are horrible and I don't think the solution was that great. Is diluted alcohol or peroxide too harsh?
thank you once again

I use one part white vinegar and three parts rubbing alcohol. If used on a regular basis, I find it can prevent a problem before it starts.

I use 50/50 mixture of white vinager and alcohol. As said before will help prevent infections because the vinager kills the bacteria and the alcohol wil dry the ear. If the ear is red and sore substitute the alcohol with water. Alcohol will burn a sore ear. Use cotton ball to get down in the ear. I saturate it with the solution and clean away!!! Remember do not use the same cotton ball in both ears. You can transfer infection that way.

How often should the ears be cleaned? Yogi's ears always seem to be dirty. We clean his ears about once a week. Not enough?

I would clean them daily until they clear up. Then go every other day and slowly space out the cleanings until you can clean and the cotton ball is not really dirty. I clean at least once a week unless a problem pops up then daily until it is cleared up
