Chronic ear infection

My Sarah has severe allergies so we have to keep an eye on her ears. I have found a solution that is calming for her ears and helps when they flare up to alleviate the itching. I am weird about her ears and will smell her ears to make sure she doesn't have a yeast infection as that might require a visit to the vet to treat first. Usually all I need though is the solution.

I use Dr. Golds ear therapy solution. I usually just put it on a cotton ball and rub around her ear to clean then take another cotton ball and dry. This usually helps when they flare up. But just follow the instructions on the bottle. I don't pour it into her ears as we also struggle with ear hematoma's so the less shaking she does the better off we are.

I hope you find something that helps your baby and their ears feel better soon.

Have you tried Blue Power recipe? Also good for your own athelete's foot or other external fungal infections. Be sure to gently warm the solution before using. Use it outdoors, and wear old clothes.

Home remedies are fine for normal cleaning, but not good for severe infections or inflammation. Remember this recipe has alcohol in it, although you can substitute witch hazel.

But if you have a staph infection or chronic problems, you really need to go to the vet to get it undercontrol. Failing to do so can result in hearing loss or other problems.

Also, Zymox has been highly recommended on this forum.

Thank you sooooo much. The more I research the more I realize how little I know. I wish I just had the resources to see a vet.I did see a vet 6mos ago but it seems to reoccur. The headshaking and warm ears. That's why I think it's chronic. Thanks again!

Zymox is pretty good stuff.
Use it once a day for at least two weeks and then once a week though it could be allergy related so a piriton on top may help as well.

Our Raven has bad ears from allergies but is now on cytopoint injections,we tried apoquel and it didn't work for her
