Familiar with Catalpas here, too. Just wondering if (like the Kentucky Coffee Tree) you maybe have two boys. Kentucky Coffee Trees come in male and female. Both seem to bloom, but only the females produce seed pods. The Catalpa seeds are long, large bean pods, as I recall, so they're not easy to miss. Just thinking you may have two boys. Any ideas on that?
