Carting

I would like to begin carting with my newf, but I cannot find anyone in my area (Pittsfield, Ma) to help me begin. If any one has any info as to how to begin please let me know.

I believe the NCA has a book you can purchase on training your dog for draft/carting. Check out the website at www.newfdogclub.org Also try Dog Works (www.dogworks.com) as they carry draft equipment. The Newf Club of New England has a working dog fun day every June and they cover intro to drafting at that event. They also held a draft workshop in May. Are you going to Eliot, Maine on 9/20 - 21?

There will be carting instructions on Saturday and Sunday. It's another Newfie Fun Days but not sponsored by NCNE nor NCA.

Consie and Roger Powell have a wonderful Draft/Carting book for the newfs. Dog Works has a very good video also.
