I was all set to post the information on the Cabin Fever Blowout that NCNE is having in Manchester, NH on February 9. Unfortunately my copy grew wings last night and now I can't find it. All you New Englanders mark your calendar and I'll post the info as soon as I find it.

Sue,
I'm not sure. Anne Parsons is in charge of the event. I'll ask her when I talk to her over the weekend or you can call Anne. Do you need her phone number?

Hi Linda and Sue, I just downloaded the application for the Membership to the New England Newf Club. I currently don't know anyone else that as member and on the application it says I need a signature of a current member what shall I do? If you could help I would appreciate it very much.

Cheri,
The best way to get a sponsor is to attend an event or two and let us get to know you. We are a friendly bunch. Hope you can make it to the Cabin Fever Blowout. See you there?

Hi Linda, I will be able to make it to the cabin fever blowout. As a matter of fact it's only 10 minutes from my house. We boarded Tory there in November. She had a wonderful time and they were very good to her. I have a dumb question though. Do I bring Tory with me or will this event be for deminstrations etc. of other members dogs?

All of NCNE's events (with the exception of the holiday party) are for Newfs and owners. Bring Tory!!
Looking forward to meeting you!

torydog,

I am sorry I didn't see the remainder of this thread before. But Linda is absolutely right, come to an event and meet people.

You might not be able to recognize me and I will be wearing anything newfie I have. That is me and everybody else there.

And Tory will have a great time!

Looking forward to it.

Sue ;)

This sounds like a blast......BUT.....after giving it some thought, I'm not comfortable bringing Logan out right now. His coat looks awful. He's half brown/half black. Some show folks are not forgiving about the puppy uglies and will trash a dog they don't like and will write it off completely no matter how gorgeous he turns out to be eventually. I went through this mess with Jesse.

I think by our summer get together Logan's puppy coat should be gone, or at least most of it, and in its place will be a beautiful shiny black coat.

It's a fun day and while you may have encountered people in other breeds that trash a puppy, most people who will be there are not out to trash any dog. Please give it some thought- there's plenty of things going on that day. The match (which is open to spayed and neutered dogs/bitches) is just one small part of it.

Thanks ROM!! I'll talk with Logan's breeder and see what he thinks. It would do Logan (and me!) a world of good to get out amongst Newfies and their owners

Codes,

Most, not all of the people that go to the fun days are not breeders and are not into confirmation. Their dogs may do carting, draft, water rescue.

Yes, there are some breeders there who do some fun day judging, but I sure wouldn't concern yourself.

Linda, am I making correct statements here????

Hope to see you there. One caveat, at this time of year, I always qualify with "weather permitting"!
