I have noticed a few books being mentioned on here, one being In the Company of Newfs, which really sounds like a good read. I am looking for books on Newfs. I would really like to get my hands on a manual type book that goes into detail about grooming, diet etc. Does anyone have one that they would recommend? Also just good reads. Something that I could read to my 5 and 3 year old before bed, stories about Newfies. I have also read some stories on here about The Gentle Giants. Well I searched for this book online, and boy was I taken back when I found it. Wow, what an expensive book!!!! Is it really worth that kind of $$$? I think the cheapest one I have found is a used one for $270.00 in US funds. I haven't come across one in Canada. Any info you guys have would be great. TIA.

A good book for reading to kids is "Hugger to the rescue". It's a (mostly) picture book about a Newfoundland rescue dog. The pictures are awesome, and there's a bit of text for each page. I found it by chance years ago.

"Newf", by Marie Killilea, is a kid's book about a newf who befriends a kitten in an abandoned cottage. The pictures are breath-taking.
As far as manual type books, I sent off for Judi Adler's "The Newfoundland Puppy: Early Care, Early Training," and was really glad I did. It has more information than any book I have yet found. But it's self-published, so you can only get it by writing to her. Unfortunately, I misplaced her address and the amount to send...maybe someone else has this info?

Well i like , In the Company Of Newfs and also Gentle Gaints i won both on ebay ,and to me they were worth every penny and more . and i would actually given even more.
