blue buffalo, merrick, earthborn

Anyone feed any of the above? I finally gave up on Diamond Mfg and decided to switch...I had been considering a switch for quite a while . I'm the person who took 7 years to pick out a new set of everyday dishes...I apparently have a committment problem! Anyway, our options in West "by God" Virginia are somewhat limited. I decided to try grainfree, fish based (salmon) and see what resulted. Merrick was available but they wer4e out of the fish based, I knew nothing of the earthborn, so I picked up a small bag of BB Wilderness Salmon. What advice? If we wind up with fishy burps and farts then it's off the table, and yes, I will transition it slowly. I have avoided Purina and Pedigree products over the years. My vet has EVO (or she did) and that was high on my list. I really don't want to pay extra for shipping and I don't want to drive two hours to pick up dog food. My daughter's EX boyfriend has been getting my dogfood for me and I really liked that but who knows how long that arrangement will last!

I feed Blue Buffalo -dogs love it and have no issues with it. Switched them over a few months ago, before all the recalls. Glad I did! I was feeding TOTW and had noticed a rancid smell, so I took it back. Shortly after that, they started the recalls.

I don't know if EVO is an option (maybe your vet still has it), but we recently switched to EVO herring and salmon. We haven't been on it long (a couple of weeks), but we have nice solid poops and no farts! Also the company (Natura, I think) has a website showing where all of the ingredients come from (http://www.seebeyondthebag.com/evo). In 2010 proctor & gamble bought Natura (I think), and some people don't like that.

I switched Jake over to California Naturals, Salmon and Peas. He is doing well on it.
He of course likes it but he eats everything and anything as many of you know (tulip bulbs, mulch, socks, etc.) Lots of runs to the vet. LOL.

Elvis eats Blue Buffalo Lamb and Rice and we all love it. It took us about a year to find a good quality (but still available at "regular" stores) food without the wheat/corn/beef/chicken/pork that he was allergic too. He's been eating it for almost 3 years and hasn't had an issue yet.

Just an idea to expand your choices if necessary...I recently switched to Acana and rather than drive 30 minutes to get it, I started ordering online. Anything over $50 has free 2 day shipping, and if you sign up for automatic shipments, all shipping is free regardless. I have gotten 2 bags this way, and its working great so far! I ordered from MrChewy.com.

The food prices were competitive, but some of the other products looked a little high.
