I bought the "mini-mite" model for about 20.00 dollars at Wal-mart. It is small and cordless, yet heavy duty enough for newf nails.....I have had it a couple of years now and it is holding up very well.......

So is that "pedi-paws" product I keep getting emails for too rinky-dink to get the job done on a Newf's nail?

Well, not necessarily rinky-dink, though I have never actually seen one. It is a dremel type tool basically with a cover on it. It looks really awkward to me....
And regardless of what the commercials say, you CAN press too deep and quick the dog.
Best suggestion re: pedi-paws would be see if you can try one. If it feels comfortable to use, then get one. Just use care as you would with any other nail tool.

I saw the Pedi-Paws at Walgreen's (that right there told me something). They had a display at the register. It looked too commercial/gimmicky. I think it was $20. I don't see any advantage to this over a dremel and I doubt it would last too long or be powerful enough for a newf.

I went out and bought the Dremel 300 today it was $64.00 (Canadian) at Walmart.
Now I have to try it out, going to be interesting. It goes up to 35000 RPM and has five or so speeds. Lots of stuff in the plastic carrying case. So I will read the book that comes with it and then go get my guinea pig, oops I mean Newf.
