Ahso, just as I suspected! Real bear cub plays just like a Newf, or at least just like my Newf.

Video of wolf and bear cub playing. All the moves, oh yeah.

OK so when all these ppl squeal "Bear!" they're not that far off.

How beautiful!!!!

You know, Suki uses her front paws more like hands, sort of like that bear cub ... I haven't had that many dogs to know if this is normal, but I don't remember my other dogs doing it in quite this way.

After watching black bears, grizzlies and polars swimming, and playing, on youtube, I am convinced somewhere back bear genes got into Newfs. Yeah yeah scientifically improbable but now my conviction. Just like raccoons got into Maine Coon cats.

So they are part bear. Playing with Orka, listening to his grunts as he waves his paws around in the air while laying on his back, wrapping his claws around me, gripping, looking acting sounding like a bear, alrighty, gets up with a growly groan, lumbers around, likes to snorfle and sniffle grunting all the while. Course then he howls like a forlorn wolf. He's been getting up on his hinds a lot lately. Bear moves far more than the wolf cub.

Nothing like getting suspicions gelled into acceptance. There's a bear in my house.

Gilly gets her paws up in the air and takes swipes at my face when I'm trying to get her inside, and once or twice has left a few marks that look like little bear claws have been at my face.

That is my Katy-Bear, hence we call her Katy-Bear, she plays like that. Quite rough too  She is so different to Annabelle.....

Lukey will sit in the middle of a room, by himself and growl, grumble and snort......People who do not know him worry about it. I often think it is why he ended up being a Rescue :)

The happier he is the more he does it, we love it. have been unable to catch it on video. Video comes out, he stops. But I have just purchased a very small video , which I can carry in a pocket.

My Abbey used to sit in the garden and howl a most aery howl......I still miss that

That was too cute :) He sure could move. The wolf cub was awesome too :)

Bava uses his front feet to grab at stuff while he's moving. He'll tromp after hubby in the front yard and grab at his legs with his front feet. Sophie does the grab at the air thing when it's food time.
