Bear Mtn Newf Fun Day

[Sound Bay Newfs]

Rory and I went to the Bear Mountain Newf Club's Fun Day yesterday. There was not a huge turnout, because of the cold, rainy weather, but it was fun! I got to show Rory in Conformation for the first time and she won 1st place (but, to tell the truth, there was no one else entered in that age group). At least I got the opportunity to put her through her paces which gave us both the experience and practice that we need. The judge is the owner of "Field of Dreams" that won at the Westminster Dog Show last year, so it was great meeting him. The Halloween costume parade followed. Rory's costume kept slipping off, so I had to skip that. I will try to get the pics on later.

What a great experience! Was the judge able to give you any tips or pointers?

The judge was friendly, but did not give me much input. I guess it is a matter of practice and exposure for both the handler and the dog.
