Bathing?

My question is, if you have to give your Newf a proper bath, what would you recommend (shampoo, etc) given that from what I've always understood you shouldn't use soaps on your dog as it strips the natural oils, etc?

I use Bio-Groom Brand - Econo Groom Tearless Shampoo and Bio-Groom Silk Creme rinse. You can order it from PetEdge.

I use Mane n Tail for general bathing and All Systems if they really need a good cleaning or when I'm bathing for a show. I really like the Mane n Tail, its mild on Baxter's Skin and inexspensive.

I use the shampoos from spectrum laboratories in my shop and on my newfs. They have a website

I use Groomer's Edge midnight white for Capri and Vera as a shampoo. It works very well!! I use Groomer's edge conditioner for them too. Makes the fur really nice!

We used Coat Handler a few times, but i feel that GE is better for them. Coat Handler makes the fur too fluffy, as the GE brings their colour out better and makes the fur nicer.

A really nice shampoo that smells as good as it works it Plush Puppy.. It is a new product from Australia, a little expensive but worth every bubble

*blushing in shame* I use baby shampoo and Suave conditioner...green apple scented. I think I'll be switching to some 2 in 1 type though. Atticus gets his baths while I shower, and it's kind of hard on my back to be bent over in the shower for very long.
