Anyone used a Mecalor pet dryer?

There's one for sale locally and I can't afford the nicer ones that everyone raves about...the K9 II or III I think they are called? Anyway, just wondering if anyone has had any success or ever used a Mecalor brand dryer. I believe they are also used for horses and professional groomers.
Thanks very much - I checked the search but couldn't find any previous posts.

Never heard of it. If you want to dry a wet newf, a K-9 II or III is your best choice. The small Metros are about half the power of a K-9. How are you using the dryer? If you are just fluffing or drying a damp dog, you may not need so much power. A Mini K-9 or Metro might work then.

Thanks for the replies! We would just be drying her damp and trying to blow some of the debris from her fur as well as trying to cut down on the fur in the house. I think we will wait and save up for a name brand and pass on the good deal with no reviews. Again, I appreciate your time and information!

I went to a self serve dog wash with metro's (before I was on NN) I figured the metro could hold up, and it did, but was hours blowing my two. A friend purchased the K9 III and raved about it. I craigslisted the metro and put the money towards the real deal....worth every penny in time it has saved.

The K9 III we got from Lynne works better than the dryer at our self serve grooming place. Before we got the K9 we thought that one was good. We bathe our dogs there but bring them home to dry them.

The K-9 needs a dedicated circuit, right? Is there one that doesn't? I am getting ready to buy.
I have a K9III and it has been invaluable! I use it EVERYWHERE. At the house, at shows, on vacation. Highly recommend. I got mine from Lynn about 6 yrs ago.

The K9 III pulls a little more power than some outlets. It pulls 19 amps and most household outlets are 15 amps. So if you have an outlet that a microwave runs on or a household dryer, that is fine. But if you have old outlets in your house you may want to upgrade the outlet. It is not a big expense. The K-9 II pulls a little less power, so is ok in any outlet.

Thank you, Lynn for answering questions! I really appreciate it! Can I ask one more? Is there really a big difference between the K9 II and the III? For just one dog is the III overkill? How much difference in time for drying is there?

The K-9 III is not overkill, but the II works great too.
