Another Newf with Allergies Problems - Part II

I have received a bunch of PMs regarding Nami's allergies and his testing. THANKS EVERYBODY for sharing your concern. Nami's testing was completed last Friday. He was tested for 64 different allergens and hit positive on 11. (For the Mid-Atlantic zone, 8-15 is not unusual.) They have formulated the innoculant and now we'll see how it does. They have reported a better than 80% success rate with Newfoundlands so here's keeping our paws crossed...

Nami hit positive on House Dust, Dust Mites, House Fly, Cat (uh oh Misu - look out), 3 different molds, White Poplar, Meadow Fesque Grass, Marsh Elder, and Pigweed.

If at the end of 3 series, he is still clear, then he will get his SAR medical ticket returned and he can finish his quals.

Thanks again everyone for the support...

Uh oh, I was afraid cat would be one of them! I am allergic to house dust too, so I feel his pain. ;) I sure hope the innoculent works and Nami feels better soon!!

Sounds like you are on your way. Cheer up - it could be worse. I have a friend whose dog just hit positive on 64 out of 64, and this dog is a rescue that they have had less than six months. The prognosis is good. All us allergy people can sympathise.
