Another little girl becomes a lady!

So yesterday my little boy said someone bled on the floor. Oh that must be a drip of ice cream or something (who was walking around with ice cream??). I did check Suki's bottom with a tissue and it came back clean. I tried looking at the area to see if it looks swollen, but who the heck can tell with all that fur down there?!? Well, there was more today, definitely not ice cream. The tissue test didn't lie this time.

So now I need to go reread all the going into heat threads I can find. I know not to let her outside on her own. But tonight there is a wild fire somewhere and all the smoke is blowing to us making it difficult to breath while we are outside. (Fortunately, we are not near the fire at all.) And of course tonight is warm inside because all of the windows are closed to keep the smoke out. And Suki wants to go out and sleep on the deck, but that is not an option.

Well, despite her body saying she is more of a lady now, she's still puppy to us!!!

Yay Suki! Any other "symptoms" or unusual behavior?
Suki seems a little mopey and more tired than usual. She has been licking her bottom more, I think. But she is usually a pretty tidy girl and cleans up down there regularly anyway.

I feel like I have so many questions at this point. I would have thought I would feel more prepared being a woman myself, but I don't! lol

Am I the only one who finds being in heat stressful?? You know, my daughter has been really moody the last few months, I bet she's going to start her period soon too ... I'm not prepared for that either! .... ugh ....

I am finding it stressful WAITING (now that I'm quite sure we had a false alarm) because I'm always worried about letting her out in the yard or being off leash on walks! I want to get it started in order to get it over with!

Good luck though!!
