Yep, Teddy is afraid of men. He goes running the other way when my boyfriend or brother or any guy comes over. In the beginning he actually growled when guys would approach him (when they got him cornered), I stopped that in a hurry and he no longer growls. It was not aggressive, more like "Don't come any nearer, I'm warning you."
He gets taken out and socialized all the time, funny when he is on leash he does not exhibit shy or fearful behaviors. Meaning he will let anyone pet him and just stands there, but only on leash. Off leash it's like he has no confidence and goes running away.
I have been working on this for a month now (since I've had him) and not much improvement besides the growling. I am assuming he must have been abused, and it must have happened before he was 10 weeks.
Suggestions greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Caroline
