Adding to Dry Food?

We feed Shelby Mae Nature's Variety Prairie kibble. I was curious if anyone had any ideas as to what else we could throw in with her kibble. We put kiefer on top at night with her dinner and once in a while I throw some just plain old greek yogurt in with it, too. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thank you :)

When ours were growing fast, we'd add sardines to the kibble. It smells awful but it was good for them. They loved it!

Here is a list of stuff we give our dogs on their kibble. Not all at once -sardines, canned salmon, canned mackerel, green beans, blueberries, cooked chicken thigh meat, pumpkin puree, diced apples, cantaloupe, diced cucumber, diced celery, carrots. Ours like the canned fish the best :D

Unless adding goodies is for health reasons I try to avoid adding things. It teaches them to expect the goodies and can make picky eaters in the future. Mine get kibble only. Of course for health reasons I've added green beans (for weight loss) or yogurt (for bacteria while taking meds)

I do not reccomend feeding yogurt to a growing puppy. I did this years ago and had a few pups with horrible Pano (growing pains) Once I layed off the yogurt, they started to come around and were fine within a few days. The food your feeding is balanced and really doesn't need any addy goodies. I give Callie the occasional treat but come mealtime, it's straight kibble. Maybe some canned mixed in occasionally.

MK - We don't feed canned food .... I only do the yogurt when I mix it with peanut butter and freeze it. Like a homemade frosty paws. She enjoys one of those about once a week. I buy the all natural peanut butter which doesn't have all the additives regular peanut butter. She loves cucumbers whenever we have salad and whenever I'm having fruit (like cantaloupe, strawberries or blueberries) she enjoys when I share.

we add a topper but we have a finicky eater and it takes her over half an hour with me guarding her to finish a meal now. We add fish, meat or any leftovers depending on what we have eaten

ours aren't keen on fruit or veg particularly
