Ada went camping

We went to the north shore of Lake Superior tis weekend, and took Ada camping for the first time.

Before we went, I had to get a bunch of supplies and came across the Halloween costumes at Target. Naturally, I had to get one for Ada:

We have a 'camping tent'. I wish I hadn't been cheap...we would've been better off with the zip-down vent covers, but we made do with blankets. (Considered bringing her into the tent, but there ended up not being enough room.)

She was the only one who got up early enough to catch the sunrise with me. At first, she thought I wanted to play, but then she saw that big red thing over the lake and watched it with intense interest.

After a while, the red thing was no longer interesting, so she decided it was time for belly rubs:

After a while, Daddy came down and visited us, and suddenly we became a diva who didn't want to have her picture taken.

Unfortunately, most of my day was spent hiking with the kids while Ada hung out with the hubby at the campground, so that's about all I got for pictures of her. I think she had fun...except for the riding in the car part. :D

Yay, Ada! Where did you go camping? My grandma has a cabin near Grand Marais, I just love it up on the North Shore. Did she sleep okay in her "pup tent"?

We were at Gooseberry Falls, and the sunrise pics were at Gitchi Gummi overlook. I'm hoping that I can take Ada with on the hike next year (this is becoming an annual thing for us) and that we can do a bit more than a weekend trip. She didn't like being in the tent, obviously, but she seemed to sleep well there. We kept her tied to the picnic table most of the time because, unfortunately, the people across from us had a dog that they weren't keeping leashed (despite me going and telling the park ranger). I was really nervous about leaving her out when it kept staring her down. (Maybe it wanted to play, but it didn't seem obviously friendly.)

Awesome pics! Glad you had fun. We took Kasper camping for the first time this summer too. And he did sleep in the tent. Good thing he did. It was freezing and he kept us warm :)

Wow I thought Ada was a black pup! Fooled me! Great pictures. I always try to talk my family into camping and they look at me like what? Maybe just Morgan and I should go!!

Totally! The nice thing about taking a dog camping is that they will pretty much go along with whatever you want to do. Much easier than kids. :D
