A reason to feed naturally

At the interacive lecture I attended on building a better canine body, one of the things we discussed were vitamins and how they are structured. And how a lot of suppliments do not include the whole structure of the vitamin or the most important part of the vitamin or the most important part of the plant that produces the vitamin, and are not always consistant from bottle to bottle.

It is important to feed your dog natural food even if you are feeding the best kibble on the market. Because in the end, all kibbles are a processed food that is then fortified to restore nutritional value. And most of the vitamins and minerals used for fortification are themselves processed and or synthetic and very possibly an incomplete vitamin structure.

So as often as you can, or everyday, share your steaks, your brocoli, your apples... it will do their body good.

And if you feed a kibble, it is more beneficial to find several kibbles that your dog does well on and change at least twice a year rather than feed one kibble for the life of your dog.

Changing kibbles from time to time and adding natural foods will increase your dogs chances of not developing nutritional deficiencies. Which means a healthier canine friend and increased longevity.

Eloise would never NOT let me share!! lol She's a fruit and vegetable nut!!! What this dog will do for celery, and she's a huge fan of asparagus!! lol And meat, forget it!! She'll have drool strands to the floor by the time I'm finished with dinner, for the little bit of dinner I save for her!!
I always think she'd win those Newfie fun day contest about what will your newf eat, but I haven't yet found anything she won't eat! lol

We definitely share...in fact, I could say, they share with us!

They get apples, pears, bananas, oranges, meat, cheese, veggies, yogurt, spaghetti, soup, and on and on.

I've also heard to switch foods every six months..I believe I read it in the Whole Dog Journal. We've tried it. However, we have problems when we do. We then get into the "don't like it" factor, diarrhea problems, skin issues, etc. I think I'll just keep letting them share, and stay with what's been working in the kibble dept!

I don't think there's anything in this house that we DON'T share with our pups! My friends and family are constantly amazed at all the fresh fruits and veggies our dogs will eat. It's to the point now that neighbors donate their over ripe bananas...

My newfs and my old lab love fruits and veggies and get them frequently. But my other 2 labs spit them out.
