At the interacive lecture I attended on building a better canine body, one of the things we discussed were vitamins and how they are structured. And how a lot of suppliments do not include the whole structure of the vitamin or the most important part of the vitamin or the most important part of the plant that produces the vitamin, and are not always consistant from bottle to bottle.
It is important to feed your dog natural food even if you are feeding the best kibble on the market. Because in the end, all kibbles are a processed food that is then fortified to restore nutritional value. And most of the vitamins and minerals used for fortification are themselves processed and or synthetic and very possibly an incomplete vitamin structure.
So as often as you can, or everyday, share your steaks, your brocoli, your apples... it will do their body good.
And if you feed a kibble, it is more beneficial to find several kibbles that your dog does well on and change at least twice a year rather than feed one kibble for the life of your dog.
Changing kibbles from time to time and adding natural foods will increase your dogs chances of not developing nutritional deficiencies. Which means a healthier canine friend and increased longevity.
