A new furry at the Bridge

It is with great sorrow that I post that Sarah is now at the Rainbow Bridge. She was diagnosed with osteosarcoma last week and after living a full and healthy life, and went downhill rapidly.
When we picked up Sarah from her breeder as our stud-fee pick, she was being called "Bashful." Well, Sarah quickly overcame any shyness and was an outgoing, loving, independent, stubborn, and mischievious puppy. She matured into a lovely girl who retained all those qualities she had as a puppy. She loved the show ring and would stand outside the ring waiting impatiently for her turn, pacing and whining and pulling to get into the ring. Sarah loved to go anywhere- didn't matter if it was just to the grocery store. She was the first into my van- that is, until she retired from the show ring and became a home-body, very content to just lie on the porch and watch the world go by and the youngsters play.

Sarah, you took us places we never imagined going.
You'll always be in our hearts.

Lynn,
I am so sorry to hear about Sarah. Be comforted knowing she is no longer in pain and someday you will meet her again. Even though the Bible does not mention animals in heaven I just know they will be there. How can God create such a wonderful companion to have on earth and not allow us to share the glories of heaven with them?

I know it is easier said than done. Just last night Gary and I was talking about our Sara, her health issues and beginning weakness in her hind quarters. Just thinking that day will come, I cried. I can only imagine.

God bless and I will say a prayer for you.

Dear Linda,

I am so sorry to hear about Sarah. It is so darn hard. Such a nasty disease, we lost our first boy to osteosarcoma.

Please know you are in our thoughts and prayers.

I too, am sorry to hear of your loss of Sarah. No more pain, just wonderful fields to romp around in, ponds to swim in, fresh flowers, breezes and sunshine all day! Remember all the good times you had together and she'll live in your heart forever!

When Sadie went to the bridge, someone wrote me that when they leave us, the leave a hole the size of a crater. That is so true.

Linda, I am so desparately sorry the loss of your very special girl. As others have said, I'm sure it's comforting to know that she's no longer suffering.. and that you will be re-united some day. Cherish you memories... I have found that they are such a gift.

And, one thing I would like to suggest to everyone, is, to make the most out of every single day we have with these very special friends. Time passes so quickly... too quickly...

Romans 8:19-23
King James Version
I was just reading about this this morning....in "The Wonder Book of My Life" by Rev. Fred T. Fuge (it's an old book about a reverend which includes a great chapter on his Newfoundland dogs). written in 1955. That's quite the coincidence that I would be reading about that no more than 10 minutes ago....log on to my computer and newf.net and find this thread...then have Jeannie mention the exact thing I was just reading about....pretty extraordinary don't you think ?
Rev. Fuge goes over this passage about Newfoundland dogs and Romans 8 (King James Version)...and it does read that animals will be in heaven with us.

Sarah, May You Soar With the Wind Near The Brightest of Sailing Ships, Until You and Lynn Meet Again in Heaven.
