A Big Black Dog...

...and the darkness of the early morning is a dangerous combo around here. I tripped over Ty this morning at 5:45 am and fractured my arm in two places. The humeral (upper arm) head (the ball) to be exact. Yowwee! That hurt.

I'll be in a sling for some time, with x-rays every two weeks to check on progress. Oh, and the heavy duty pain meds (yay). And it's my right arm, and I'm a righty.

Doom.

It's true. A burglar would definitely be at risk of death creeping into a newfy household.

I need more nightlights.

:(

OMG sympathy Tracy! Ouch ouch ouch. Prayers for your healing.

I've tripped over Orka & the Coons too many times. Now just turn on the dang lights. In fact in the daytime keep all the lights on so I can see the critters who are sprawled across pathways.

Keep Lynn's door almost all the way closed so the night light turning on won't wake her up. Gotta have light. Night lights are too dim. Critters position themselves for collision so they get attention.

Ouch that hurts, hopefully Ty is giving you some sympathy:(

I guess another vote for the Landseers with the 'bright' white

I can always spot Moby's tail when he is outside after dark with the white flag waving

Take care, Rob & Moby

OUCH! you poor thing! I'm so sorry this happened to you. I've fallen over my Timber a few times in the past 9 years in the dark (when I'm half asleep). I've never hurt myself long-term, or so serious as a fractured arm (x2).
One of the hazards of owning a black dog....
I hope you have a speedy recovery,
Marina

Sorry to hear about your accident. Hope your feeling better real soon. I tripped over my last newf, in the dark, and fell flat on my face. Thankfully I was not injured.

Oh my.... I fell over Ben a couple months ago and sprained my wrist but good. My first fear was that I'd broken my arm. I'll never forget the feeling of 'going down' and trying not to land on him.

Hope the pain goes away soon. You poor thing.

Ouch, that's serious. However, must say you can still type really well :)
Ha! typed into Word, spell and grammar check, copy and paste. I doubt I'll always be doing all that. left handed keyboard and mouse is challenging, although I've heard it's good for your brain. Maybe this accident will make me smarter :whistling:

Fell over Sam in the dark a few weeks ago and landed on his neck. Thought he might be hurt, but when I turned to check, he rolled over so I could rub his belly! :D Bummer about your arm-hope it heals up fast. What is it about these animals that we tolerate all this risk to life and limb...or at least limb? Guess they're just awesome.

I hope your pain fades quickly and you heal well!

I will have to get night lights for when Suki no longer needs to sleep in her crate!

So sorry to hear that. Hopefully you mend quick.

I went over Snuffles less than 6 months after I tore up my knee slipping on the ice and they had to reattach all the tendons/muscle to the top of my knee cap. Boy was I scared as I tried to straighten my leg out very very slowly after the fall. I do not think Snuffles moved a inch.
