1. One puppy gets shooting diarrhea 2 days after the litter goes to the vet's office for physical exam and vaccination.
2. 3rd day after vet's office and another puppy starts with the shooting diarrhea
3. Day 5 - 5 more pups start with shooting diarrhea
4. Day 5- Dam of puppies starts with the diarrhea
5. Puppies not eating (but they are drinking lots of water and pedialyte).
6. House smells horrendous from puppies'diarrhea- which is worse smelling than normal puppy poop.
7. 7 puppies and 1 dam now sick with the crud (and on Albon).
8. Waiting for the "other shoe to drop" (translation: for the 4 other adults to start with the crud).

3 days of Albon and stools are pretty much back to normal. Cassie's are still softer than I'd like to see. They're all eating well again and playing. So far other adults are fine.
The puppies were never on the floor of the exam room, never in the waiting area. There were 2 or 3 vet techs and myself- each carrying a puppy from crates in my van into the office. Placed on the scale for weights, placed on exam table, examined, given the first vaccine and then carried back out to my van & put in one of the crates.
Either there had been a sick dog in that exam room or on the scale- or someone had the bacteria on their hands, clothes, etc. The telephone receptionist poo-poo'd my concerns when I called with the sick puppies but I plan on talking to the owner when I see him on the next visit. The vet I saw the other day was not the vet who owns the practice so no sense in talking to him.

you mean that this crud is that contagious! wow.
that is scary.
glad to hear all sounds well.
usually mine stay in their respective bin, so to speak! LOL
i bring them in those bins and we do each one, set it back in.
but for myself and shoes, i ask them to bleach before going in.
i would have a talk to.
that makes for you to become a wreck with worry about them.

I spoke too soon. The other 4 adults are now on Albon too. Glad that I had the vet put up Albon for all the adults- saves me another trip to the vet's office.

Oh my! You poor thing, and those poor puppers! I know you're probably fit to be tied, and I don't blame you! Going to the vet is probably much like going to a hospital...one of the best places to pick up something dreadful.

Thank heaven our Vet comes to us. We tried taking puppies to the Vet once...wasn't exactly fun, so we just arrange for him to come over and check them at our house!

I hope all settles down soon and everyone is feeling better quickly!
