5 Month Old Newf

I'm a new member to newf.net and a first time newf owner. Everyone on here has been so informative and helpful regarding my questions about food for Denali and I am so grateful!! I do have a curiosity that maybe some can help me with?? Denali is a male pup who will be 5 months old on June 21st (so in about 5 days or so). We weighed him today and he is 60lbs. I definitely understand that every dog is unique and that size varies, but I'm just curious as to how big some of your now adult dogs were at 5 months old and how big they are now as adults?? Or, does that weight seem pretty average for a 5 month old newf? Thanks so much for the feedback, looking forward to it!!

The archives are a great tool for this question! If you look at that bar at the top of the page, next to "New Posts" there is "Search." If you search for puppy growth, growth charts, etc, you'll find a few that should answer your questions! Orca was about 57 lbs at 5 months. I think the very broad rule of thumb for the first year is 10 lbs for every month old, but Orca was always a bit ahead of that (he has finally leveled out somewhat) and I know others may be behind as well. If you can feel his ribs easily (without pressing to feel them), but he doesn't feel like a skeleton when you touch him, he's probably fine. :)

Our female was 51 Lbs at 4 1/2 months. Vet said she looked to be an ideal weight for a large breed, kinda skinny. She is now 5 months but i haven't weighed her since :)

I remember asking a very similar question when our female was younger. She too wanted to and still does nap outside. We did take everyone's advice and didn't let her sleep outside all night. She's almost 3 now and still naps on the concrete patio when it's warm or cold.

Thank you everyone :) I've been sifting through the archives as well and it has been very helpful! I've learned steady and slow is the name of the game with growth! I guess I'm just curious as to how big he'll be when all is said and done, but we shall see! Thank you again :)
