I will plan to have plenty of wine so that we don't run out! I don't feel that Debbie and I are doing enough with just Ceasar Salad for Saturday, so how about if we bring some cheese, cracker and summer susuage, that way it can be for both nights?

Will a case of wine be enough?

You are welcome to bring whatever you want but don't feel you need to. I am sure we will have plenty of food. As for the wine, we all bring it, so don't feel it necessary to feel you need to surve us all! :)

Reading everyone's replies is making me so excited!!! Yay Busa can make it! Oh can Jixer sleep with us?! I live me a Great Dane!!! Suki is well behaved at home and on outings, but bring out another dog and she's singleminded about playing and talking to all the other dogs .... Loudly. So excuse her misbehaving!

Dawn, what is chicken Murphy? I'm going to stop eating now so I'm really hungry when we get there & I can taste everything!! Everyone's menu items sound delish!!

How cold is the water by end of October? My kids plan on swimming, we'll see how long they last! But it doesn't matter is it's too cold, they will have a horde of dogs to play with!!

Thanks for the wine Tom and Debbie (Thor's Dad), plus the cheese, crackers, and summer sausage sound great for friday.
I believe the ocean is a bit too chilly for me at this time, but I do recall Emily (Clifford's mom) in the water with her wet suit on and plenty of surfers in too with their wet suits.
I will bring my k-9 III blower to help dry off the dogs and get sand off before bed. Just let me know if you need to use it. Should anyone else bring theirs, I'll let you know I tripped a breaker when I turned on the second motor. I don't know if it was all the extra lights on, because I just started using the outlet in the parking lot next to the soda machine.
Also, I hate to sound like miss bratty bossypants, but I'd just like to remind everyone to leave their rooms at least as clean as when you arrived, so management will still like us and let us back next year. Oh, please be respectul of the maids too. There is one who is absolutely, ballistically terrified of dogs, especially big and black ones. Whenever we see her we give her a heads up that we'll be passing by with our dog. This is the first year of the new mgmt., so I'm not sure what to expect.

Food

I am bringing the Pasta Bolignese & Key Lime pie. I can make a large amount of the Bolognese gravy, I just need to know how many to feed... I will make it at the condo and and Dan will again make either homemade rustic bread or rolls ....our room will smell delicious.☀
We will also have beer and wine . We are looking forward to coming again. Is anyone bringing their cart ? We may not be able to as we have a different car and don't think we can fit 2 Newfies plus her cart...
Are we doing any raffles or tee shirts for the event?🐾

As for grooming tips/ lessons...if you have your own tools, bring them along so we can show you how to work w what you have....if not...not a problem. Dan usually does a ear and then you do an ear, etc
It is fun. If you don't have tools, we can share what you need to buy to keep your Newf looking good..at minimum, 3 pair of scissors and your pooch is stylin'.
This is fun.

So. Excited. My poor Maggie is always a hot mess, God bless her and her unconditional love and inability to realize the hack jobs I do on her!

We will be stopping by, as new owners we can use all the advice we can get, really easy now that he's only 12 weeks old, but I know when he gets his adult coat it will take a new skill set to keep him looking good!

I was not prepared for the adult coat. What a difference. The pup coat was low maintenance in comparison. I felt I was fighting a losing battle with the adult coat until I spent the $ on some essentials. Still, I feel Newfoundland coats are not easy and very high maintenance. Can't wait to learn some more.

Hi Thor's a Dad & Chumleysma,
At 12 weeks, now it is time to get him used to grooming& nail clipping. Puppy grooming is very different from adult but we can get you going on how to start adult grooming and what tools to buy. You really can do it w 3-4 scissors...
Chumleysma, bring what you have we can groom together.
I love when the adult fur starts coming in...I am always looking for that first strip of fur at about 14 weeks or so...

We already did one nail clipping and are playing with his feet on a regular basis. Also we are using a wet cloth once a week to get him use to having activity in his ears. We brush him daily, a habit that we both needed to get use to doing.
