Worse case Busa will just have to sleep with me!!!!;)
Lol I don't think Busa would he is to much of a Mama's boy but Jixer on the other hand would be up in that bed with you so fast. He is a love bug. But he will go up stairs. Do you know if anyone is bring another dog besides a newfie? Or is jixer going to be the odd man out?

Yep! He will probably be in such doggie heaven with all of the other dogs there, he will bound up those steps!

And bummer about bike week. Promise, we won't act like that. Well, unless someone brings tequila. :icon_bb:

Food

I have such a hard time with answering in this
Type of forum. Please forgive me if
I answer in the wrong spot and screw up.
This is our 3rd year coming and in room 102.
We are coming Thurs-Sunday, possibly Wednesday.
We will make Pasta Bolognese again and a
Key Lime pie or bars. We can cook for Friday
If that helps

Ohh and I am in room 200 A. I know you guys are doing pot luck on friday and maybe saturday. I won't be coming down until saterday. Check in time is at 3. So do you want me to still bring something? And when I say bring something I mean buy something. I am not a good cook. :)

We can do just about anything that people would like. Debbie makes a mean caesar salad, which makes a nice side dish, as for a main course I need some suggestions, I was thinking lasagna, but not sure if that's too much Italian with the stuffed shells?

So we are open to ideas, so let me know what we should do, or if you want be to go with the lasagna.

Also is this a drinking group? We can bring some wine to go with dinner.

I think a mean caesar salad sounds great. You guys really don't have to bring any more than that unless you really want to. I love red wine, by the way...and white.
I'm beginning to wonder how we'll eat it all. Are you getting all this down Dawn? Don't forget to ask for the group discount when you book. Oh, and don't forget your rubber boots. They're perfect for walking in the sand plus you can get in the surf a little bit.

They are super flexible with check in and check out times so please don't feel that you have to wait til 3pm if you want to come earlier!!!

Brittany...I'm not bringing my other dog as my husband is staying home and it's too difficult to handle two dogs, because while Cheeto is a sweetie, Chumley is often times like a locomotive on a leash. I still have to have both hands and pay attention to everything around me (chases cats, squirrels, and yes, seagulls). Two years ago at the OC get together, he lunged after a poodle while my mom was holding him. She ended up with a broken elbow, so she can't help me with him anymore (doctors orders are no more holding Newfoundlands.) Anyhow, feel free to bring Jixer, but just know they may charge for the second dog since the fee for the Newf is waived as part of the Newfie group ($20-25/night?) You will notice when you arrive there are a few other people staying there that come that weekend too every year with their dogs. There's a man with a sweet Golden, Marty with her poodles, and there's another couple that own a condo next to us that have a black Newfie which visits us each year.
I'm timing my departure so that I can eat lunch at the Indian River Inlet Marina luncheonette around noon which puts our arrival at the Windjammer at 1pm. They have an outside porch so that Chumley can join us ( I don't like to leave him in the car to overheat plus the owners have always given Chumley water.) Here's a pic of Chum and my sister out on the porch from a previous year. Please note the beautiful sunshine so that makes this photo not from the last two years (hurricane and snowstorm.)

When I was booking the room I told them that I was bringing another dog and that it was a non newf. They still waived the pet fee. They were really nice. Your poor mom. If it was just me coming I could not do both dogs but since my bf is coming Jixer is coming too. They are both going to be going crazy with all the other dogs. They are going to love it. So everyone plz excuse my dogs' bad behavior. Busa is coming into a teenager and pretends he is deaf and Jixer is well just jixer.

Stacey, I'm bringing three teenagers again. :shocker: I was wondering if I should bring extra food for them.

I'm sure we can all coax him up there!!

Should we do the pot luck on Saturday? It might be easier since people will be arriving sporadically; Friday we could do snacks and what not in the courtyard.

I missed this Dawn. Last year and the year before we did potluck on both nights. This way we don't have to venture out in the evening and leave our pups behind... I always kinmda look forward to it becasue I feel like its when we all really get to chat!!

I will plan to have plenty of wine so that we don't run out! I don't feel that Debbie and I are doing enough with just Ceasar Salad for Saturday, so how about if we bring some cheese, cracker and summer susuage, that way it can be for both nights?

Will a case of wine be enough?
