Thanks! We live in Des Moines. We have a year and a half old Newf named Clifford. No he's not red
but he does run up to the TV when Emily Elizabeth calls her dog. We would like to get involved with animal therapy, but right now he still needs more obedience training. I'll post a picture once I figure out how. Clifford has this wierd phobia of walking on wooden bridges. The only way he will go across is if he sees another dog on the other side. Do your dogs do this?

As to the fear of wooden bridges, it's funny you should ask because I didn't know we had any wooden bridges in our town until today (it's right across from the building I've worked at for nearly two years -- I guess I'd better get my nose out of the computer once in a while, eh?). One of these days I'd like to take my newfy on a walk over that bridge because it's a really picturesque view -- from a newfy's perspective, it's probably filled with many new and unusual fragrances as well. If we ever take that walk, I'll let you know how he responds!

I took Zatara for a walk on the wooden bridge and he displayed no fear at all. The wooden bridge we have is very wide and sturdy -- you can't even see the river through the slats.
