Water Test Statistics

Does anyone know where to find the stats on number of dogs to pass WD, WRD, and WRDX each year? Or if this info even exists? I've heard that only 5 WRDX dogs passed last year and just wondering if that's true. Morbid curiosity really... :p

Lauren- we had two X dogs test this weekend. The first day they passed everything BUT the unconscious victim (they both went out and around and wouldn't grab hold). After the test, we stayed and helped them practice. The second day one passed and one missed by one exercise (she took the last drowner to shore instead of the boat). Id say that's pretty good odds. Visualize a positive outcome! I have faith in you guys!

If I didn't have the video of her doing the exercises back to back I might actually end up hyperventilating more than I already do when I think about doing the test THIS MONTH. Horrifying! I have proof that she can do it, yet I still totally freak when I think about it. Good thing we're doing more practice this weekend! We're driving about 6 hours away to spend the weekend in Georgia to practice everything again. That's how paranoid I am.

Thanks for the vote of confidence :D

At River King when I Blake got this X, there were 4 passing entries that day, I believe that was in 2008

I know how you feel- you are doing far more than we did- but I couldn't sleep for 2 weeks and couldn't retain any food! Rescue Remedy was a Godsend for me FYI. Just keep visualizing those perfect exercises on video, and picture her doing that at the test. And picture you being totally calm. I really think visualizing things the way you want them to come out really really helps. We'll be waiting with baited breath to hear the good news that you passed! LUCK LUCK LUCK!

Lauren,
If you haven't read it yet, I am going to HIGHLY recommend you get this book and read it cover to cover.....

http://www.amazon.com/Winning-Mind-...=sr_1_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1312418774&sr=1-2

When I was shooting competition pistol, this book helped a ton on the mental aspect; when I started golf, same thing....... we still refer to it from time to time on things that require mental management.

Buy it, read it, if you aren't satisfied, I'll refund your money. :)

First off, I HOPE that the test you refer to THIS month is the CNC's event. I would LOVE to see Hera qualify at our event.

Second, having see Hera perform, I say "relax," she'll do fine...

It is CNC! :D How could I not come back after last year??

My nerves are mostly based on what happened at SENC last year, which is kind of dumb really. We only practiced the X a few weekends (between CNC's test and SENC's test) and when we got to the test she didn't feel well. Her butt was sinking and she didn't have the power and strength she needed to feel confident about the exercises. This year it's only been good so far. Butt is high in the water and she makes it look like a piece of cake.

Also, I'm afraid I'll screw up on the Line to Shore exercise and drop the whole reel in the water. :shuffle: I've done it during practice a few times. Kind of hard to concentrate on everything and coordinate your hands at the same time. :p

Ah Hah! Now we know the secret.

The one I've read and refer to is 'Conquering Ring Nerves: A Step-By-Step Program For All Dog Sports' by Diane Peters Mayer, M.S.W.

You know what they always tell people who are nervous about speaking in public...picture all the dogs naked. Or something like that. LOL

I'll be there taking pictures again. Don't forget to hit me up for some; Hera is a wonderful subject...
Yes!!! The picture of her jumping from last year is pretty much my favorite picture of all time! So glad you'll be there this year too! :D
