Glad to hear that you did so well from the AOH class Ginny! I had been curious to know if anyone had used it yet and the outcome.. Obviously a very wonderful experience for you!!! :sunflower:

Am Bred may have been the kiss of death in years gone by, but I think most judges now are more open in their thinking. Time was in years past, that don't bother entering anything other than Open if you were serious about winning.

However, for what it's worth.. Other than the 2 points Gigi took out of 9-12 class, she finished completely out of Am Bred, including two 4 point majors, and a 3 point major. On the day she finished, she took her final 4 point major ( just needed a single) and she went BOW and BOS over a very lovely bitch special.

The few times I popped her into Open, she did not do as well. In Gigi's case, I think Am Bred worked to her advantage because she's a live wire and tends to screw off in the ring, no matter how much I gait her before going in the ring. She fed off my nerves. :sunflower:

Often times she was alone in Am Bred, and thus automatic entry into winners class. The one time around the ring during her class was enough to settle her down for winners class.

Thus, she got a second chance for a good look from the judge.

In Open, the misbehavior was her downfall as the judge couldn't get a decent look at her and had to place her accordingly.
