undescended testicles

Hi All,
I'm still on "puppy watch" err..wait
It's now round four......The last litters were not a match for us. I am grateful the breeder is forcing me to be patient
She now has 3 males and has stated they are beautiful show quality, but is waiting to see if the testicles descend...if they don't they will be pet quality and she will keep me posted. I have a few questions .... at what age do dogs testicles usually descend? Is there a real probability that in 3 pups this would occur? I didn't think it was common....just an occasional occurrence. Second, I had originally asked for a pet quality dog as I have no experience showing etc. and didn't want to take from someone who would. I am now wondering if I was incorrect in that thinking. Is it preferable to purchase a show quality...afterall in the grand scheme of things its a few hundred dollars more? If I am buying from a reputable breeder isn't a pet quality pup just a pup with a trait that would not be acceptable in the ring..but would still be a fine dog?
Or, am I justifying needing a show quality dog so I don't have to wait for litter number FIVE! (lol) Hey...the crate is set up, the kitchen is gated, the toys are in the basket, the Judi Adler book is read and on the coffee table, the vacuum is ready to work.....I already have pre-made scrapbook pages........is it WRONG to wish undescended testicles on a guy??! GAD..don't answer that!

Looking forward to sharing my newfie stories soon,
Juli

OK I know you said don't answer...

but I sat here wincing the whole time until the end.

As for show vs. not show quality - I'm a firm believe in letting the pup pick you. Quality doesn't matter to me (who doesn't show) as much as personality does.

If a show-pup picks you and he's available, consider the extra money spent.

If a pet-pup picks you, take the money saved and buy another vacuum.
