trying to post pics

Hi, Everyone!
I'm BRAND new to digital photography, and am fairly computer challenged. I've read the pic posting tutorial, and am trying to follow as best as I can. I've uploaded pics to my computer via card reader. I created my pics folder in my documents/my pictures. I have an Olympus camera, which came with Camedia and Adobe Photoshop software. Per Gad's tutorial, I'm supposed to download images to Adobe Photoshop software package, then save original images under new file with new file name, BEFORE downsizing image resolution to "web-usable" size(Gad recommends 600 pixels width or heigth, depending on image orientation). I tried "saving as", and next window that pops up is "jpeg options", which really confused me. Any suggestions/help as to how to proceed? I'd really like to try to post some of the pics I've taken of Suki, and share with you, if possible. Many thanks, and 'sorry for my "ig'nance"!

'Sorry I originally posted this question on the wrong board!

Try leaving all the jped options as defaults and see if it works. As long as you do "save as" and don't overwrite your original photos, you can't hurt anything.

Some common options:

progressive - don't care
quality - the lower the quality, the smaller the image. I usually have mine set to 75% if I Recall correctly. Any setting will do though.

HTH. If not I'll whip open Photoshop and spell out each option for you - sorry, I just don't have the time right now (As usual, I should be in bed already!)

Hi Gad!

Thanks so much for the tips on how to handle the jpeg option window...I just let it go with the default settings, and crossed my fingers! 'Looks like it worked after all, once I figured out wrapping the URL's with IMG tags instead of first trying to wrap them with URL tags(duh)! Thanks again, and thanks for this great forum!!!
