Do your dogs have any triggers to barking(non-stop until he/she gets a treat?Murphys trigger is pointing at him and he gets so wound up and starts barking, then the terrier barks and we're yelling quiet. He jumps over furniture and wont listen to commands other than sit.

Our daughter's Shihtzu sounds off every time a car comes in the driveway...then the lab mix gets started. The newfs used to ignore them, but now they know that somebody usually comes IN when that happens, so they have learned to get excited too. You should try carrying on a phone conversation with 4 dogs barking in unison!

Morgan is generally a very quiet girl, but we discovered at Chrismastime last year that she DOES NOT like it when somebody speaks through a tube. DH picked up an empty wrapping paper tube and called Morgan. She went crazy - would not stop barking until we hid the tube where she couldn't see it.

Apparently, my little brother at some point decided to make himself an artificial didjeridu. He took a long piece of PVC pipe and melted in a few spots - twisted it and turned it brown in spots so it looked like a hollow piece of wood. When he heard about Morgan's reaction to the wrapping paper, he dug that out of the closet. Instead of saying her name, he just blew through it. Same reaction. Normally, if Morgan doesn't like something, I can calm her down - she trusts me completely and if I tell her it's OK, she generally relaxes. Not with this thing. If it was sitting in a corner she was fine, but as soon as someone picked it up she'd go off again. We finally put it back in the closet.

Oh, and Quark's reaction - as soon as Morgan started barking like that, he tucked his tail and RAN. We found him hiding behind the bed. When he was a puppy, Morgan protected him from a horse that she thought was going to hurt him. He won't even protect her from a cardboard tube now that he's the big one.
