Think Ben would eat until he threw up? (1 y.o.!)

Just pondering. We've never given him all the raw food he wants, so I often wonder just how much he would eat if he had the whole box to himself... and if he'd be digesting it.

He currently eats 1.5lbs in the am and in the pm and I actually started adding rice just to give him a little more carbs (we buy special patties formulated with vitamins & minerals so I don't give him a nutritional deficiency). He's constantly starving, (no one here loves him, you can tell). He's never been overweight - he's about 95 lbs.

He's always eating his and other animals' poop, so it really makes me want to just try feeding him everything he'll eat to see what will happen.

My guy would eat till he puked, then eat that as well. Ben's weight seems pretty normal for his age assuming he's roughly average height. My guy always seems hungry as well...we tried super premium food for a while (so feed half a cup vs one cup of 'the other stuff') and he started eating random things in the house. So we went back to the food with more filler and that behaviour stopped. This past week we were a-visiting and Grandma fed him at least 3 times his normal intake and he still sat there with an expression that said "sure, i'll have seconds please and thanks". He did puke it all up later that night, but it didn't seem to slow him down any. Grandma is a sucker for a pouty face, but once he started to have an upset tummy, she understood why his intake is limited. Nothing is as pathetic as a 130 newf whining to get up on the couch with his mama so she can rub his tummy to make him fart and feel better. It also helped produce some amazingly large bowel movements the next day.

Bwahaha! That's hilarious! Poor chaps must lack the hypothalamic signal in their brain that says, "enough already!" We started feeding Ben some supreme kibble without additives, etc 3 days ago to supplement the raw food and he went back to itching himself like crazy again.

My friend who had a dog (Dalmation) said that she tried everything for the itching and ended up on Alpo. After your testimonial and hers, maybe I'll try some cheaper kibble and he'll be happier and healthier... because he'll stop eating Rhododendrons and other poisonous/obstructive items.

Thanks for the laugh! :)

Update - Acana Pacifica

Holy Crumoly!! I just have to say that we've tried Ben on SO many types of kibble and all of them, no matter how obscure & hypoallergenic, have made him itch. For the first time, he's not an itchy boy! I'm probably feeding him too much at this point with raw food and kibble, but I'm keeping track of his ribs & he seems happier.

:allg069:

Maybe we all need a little more fish in our diets.
