My goodness! It started snowing this morning, and Atticus has been acting like a wild man. He's been outside ALL morning rampaging around by himself, running laps around the sandbox, doing happy jumps. Scout the husky lasted about half an hour before she decided she'd rather be inside by the fire. Atticus refused to come inside and when he finally did after 2 hours outside, he didn't collapse in a heap and nap like I thought he would. Nooooo he's flinging his rope bone around and knocking things off the tables.

I assume this is what all of you have been saying about coming out of summer hibernation?

Yep, the chill in the air brings out the nuttiness!!!! Mine go ripping around in the back yard like there's no tomorrow! Molly and Koda have fallen more times in the past couple of days romping and chasing and chasing and romping!

They go Ka-nuts!!!

Mine suddenly develop energy! Today I took Wrigley, Tazz and our two sons out sledding. The dogs ran up and down the hill a million times. Ahhh, a tired dog is a good dog!

I'm kind of anxious to see Beau's response when he sees snow for the first time to. Of course it could be kinda scary since he is nutso most of the time anyway!

Our girls must have smelled the snow coming. They were awfully frisky today. Maggie even charged at me and almost knocked the camera out of my hands. Lucy doesn't like that rough play with her mom, so she chased Mags around the yard and grabbed her scruff after that.

It's been snowing off and on for a few hours now, but it's not cold enough to stick....yet.

Last winter it started snowing at night, we all went to bed and Kody starting barking at 1:00am, so hubby, figuring he had to pee, went down to let him out but he wasn't barking by the "potty" door but by the front door, he saw the snow and wanted to go out and play.

My hubby let him out anyway and then he wouldn't come IN! My hubby came upstairs, fuming mad, about 20 minutes later, to get me because he couldn't get him in. So I had to get dressed and go down and physically drag him in the house, like the spoiled little brat that he is!! He just LOVES when it snows! ;)

I love to hear about your Newfie's "Call of the Snow" which is somewhat akin to "Call of the Wild" in a sweet Newfie way!! We don't get much snow here, but I see a goofy Newfie in my back yard when we do!! Keep the fun coming with your tales of cold. I love to hear them, and I'm sure others do, too!!

We don't get that much snow here either, but the cold wind coming down the valley sends the girls into fits. Even Echo gets feisty. Moonlight, who was a little puppy last winter, doesn't seem to remember cold and is in the height of her glory. We play let the dog out, let the dog in, let the dog out - all day long.

I let our 3 out yesterday afternoon when I got home from work and they played and ran constantly for 2 solid hours.
And, since we live by a lake, I also had 3 WET Newfs to dry off before they were allowed to come back in the house.

It's snowed here twice now this season but both times it accumulated to about an inch and then melted away. Our 2 newfs absolutely love the stuff. They get frisky and roll around in it. Last season they were only pups (they turned 1 Oct. 30) and I have picture of them then tunnelling through the snow banks that were a couple feet high. I can't wait for our first big snow of the season to see their antics this year!

It's the same here every year. It's amazing how this big slug that has to sit inside with the a/c on all summer now has to be outside all day long. The other morning it was 12 degrees and Hallie asked out at 6am to lay on the deck.

It snowed about three inches here today and the girls are loving it. They ran around biting snowflakes out of the air then they'd lay down and roll in the stuff. Wanted to be out there all day. Finally came in for the last time at about 8 - collapsed on the floor and haven't moved since. I even rattled the cookie jar with not response....I think snow is the only thing that wins out over food! I didn't take any pics because they are predicting 8" for us Tuesday and I figured that will be real picture worthy!
