Charlotte decided to help open.. Sadie didn't think she was going fast enough... Solly wasn't quite sure what that thing was.. but if Sadie liked it.. he was game to check it out...

Ohhhhh I found something goooooood ...

.....and it's MINE!!! Solly had the ear perk.."Where'd the ball go?"

Sadie thought it was for her.. but Solly thought she should share since he did not see his...

Solly..had that look in the interim of , "Where's mine?" So... we gave it to him :)

And last but not least.. Teapot was running from one igloo through the tube to the other igloo.. it made a fun maze. It was very hard to get a good picture as fast as she was going.

Holly was quite content to stay in her igloo.. especially after Teapot went to hers where she could peak out.. get a piece of those tasty treats.. and pop back in her igloo to munch...

Thanks again.. everyone had a blast!

Haha, looks like fun was had by all! Thanks for posting the cute photos. I hope everyone enjoyed their gifts.

P.S. We had some of the jam today and it was delicious! I could taste the honey in the mixed berry jam. Will have to steal your recipe. We make jams, too, but they often turn out the wrong consistency. Any secret to it?

Less is more in the jelly... I like to be able to taste the fruit.

By canning, I can to reduce the amount of preservatives for the kids an have family members who are diabetic. In the suggested recipe, you literally have more sugar than fruit. So, honey and splenda help to reduce it. The low sugar recipe only has a fraction of the amount. To use the other sugar subs, you need to get the no sugar pectin.

Consistency... I blend mine first..before cooking down. There's a fine line there... you want the berries chopped but not pureed so that you still have a few chunks after cooking.

We also went though 40 qt of homemade applesauce... 10 qt of homemade dill pickles, peppers, sweet pickles, tomato sauce, apple slices to make quick and easy pies, and chicken soup. The kids tell me I'm not allowed to buy store bought .. I need to can them. :) Spring needs to get her so I can get more fresh veggies!
