Tar removal

Hi
Hubby took the furkids out for a walk and apparently they must of went through either ashphalt or tar somewhere (although hubby doesn't know where)it is on their feet on the webbing between the toes any ideas on how to get this stuff off their feet?

Peanut butter or olive oil should work!

When we got my Samoyed mix puppy as a child, her BYB worked on cars a lot. We picked her up and she was FULL of tar from running around under the cars.
