Has anyone tried this? I am looking into anything that might control the cough that is still lingering.
Primalix KC
Liquid Herbal Extract For Kennel Cough

Any other remedies to help a lingering cough?

Thanks in advance!

Sara had one once. A tracheal wash resulted in a bacterial infection in her lungs that took a strong antibioctic for 8 weeks to cure.

Lingering coughs can be a sign of heart disease.

Here is the Reader's Digest version of Sara's cough and cure: Our regular vet kept treating her with medsf or 10-14 days. The cough would go away then come back. He decided to check her heart. Then he said she was in congestive heart failure. I took Sara to a Cardiologist whose tests showed her heart was normal and the trecheal wash showed the infection. After the meds she never coughed again.

We have had 3 months of the Baytril. Plus Temiril-P & Tussigon-Hydrocodone. We finished the Baytril almost 2 weeks ago. I weaned her off the tussigon & she gets 1 Temeril-P a day. I am going to talk to her vet about stopping the Temiril-P so she can go back on Metacam. She really needs that.

We had a trachea wash done, when we did the scope, almost 3 months ago. He felt the cough was more of an inflamation that may be chronic. The cough is almost gone but every now and then there is one.

Her heart is fine. Her bloodwork looked good with the exception of her creatine level which was a bit elevated. I take her urine in on Monday.

We have Manuka Honey over here, leptospermum honey (?sp)...........It is not the same as normal honey and very expensive. I gave it to Katy when we had the kennel cough in the district here.
The dogs love it and it is never going to do any harm and may help :) Ronnie
