Gearing up for Dogtober Fest this Sunday. Come out if you're in the area.

Spirit trying on Piper's old backpack. Didn't adjust and snap all of the straps, so it's a bit wonky. LOL.

I have a bunch of reasons (so I tell myself) why I shouldn't have another dog.

I admit I'm fond of this boy, but I'm not convinced I'm the best home for him. Of course...if no one expresses an interest in him or passes HANR's adoption procedures...er, ahem, cough, sputter... :shuffle:

How gorgeous. Why can't he be a foster failure?
*Grandma* just walked in the room when I pulled up this thread. She asked who's dog it was. I said it was a foster to a lady in Leawood, KS that has a blood relative of Snuffles and one who died. I also said, I bet this dog is going to be a foster failure. Great minds think alike!

Back to the subject at hand. Yes he sure does look great and VERY happy in his *foster* home.

Took Spirit to my knitting circle tonight, for a short while. Poor boy was anxious, but so well behaved. He greeted everyone, and laid down at everyone's feet, only getting up long enough to move to the next person. He was making sure he spread himself around so he could get maximum belly rubs. LOL. But he was glad to get home again and is passed out next to me.

.......they get to us, they just seem to know which strings to pull.

I have failed too many times now, but I respect those that do not :)

I don't know, I saw your other thread where you mentioned "Hugo (always here in spirit)" and I got a bit of a spook too.

You never know, fate will decide, as you say. Interesting though. ;-)

Yeah, with it being the season of ghosts and goblins and other spirits, it's a strange coincidence that this particular dog landed at my house. Too many coincidences, really.

He sure had fun at Dogtober Fest. And was VERY well behaved after he got the initial excitement over with. He was in hog's heaven with all the petting he got from strangers. Once someone started petting him, he wouldn't let them stop.

Only one person seemed interested in him, though. But she is waiting for her other elderly dog to pass before she adopts, since it tends to attack first and ask questions later.

I agree. I've had too many "spooky" experiences when I've gotten a new Newf after losing one. Like the second one, who seemed to be EXPECTING me!
