Sojos as a base

Does anyone have any experience with the sojos dehydrated mix that you add meat to in order to feed raw?

This goes back some 9-10 years, but I did feed Sojos for a time with our first Newf, who had chronic runny-poop syndrome and itchy skin. The problem I have with it is that it's basically a grain mix, and with the advent of the grain-free kibbles, she did better on those. She did better on anything that wasn't chicken. If memory serves me, we went from Science Diet (at the breeders) to Wellness chicken (runny), to Wellness fish for quite a while (okay but not perfect), to Sojos/raw (raw really didn't agree), then she developed another health problem and had to be fed boluses of food so I mixed Wellness or Natural Balance canned with Sojos. Then we went to Natural Balance duck kibble, then on to the grainfree (Taste of the Wild), which finally seemed to settle her, though they've had some recall issues lately. I would agree with the advice you've gotten in your other thread to stay away from chicken ingredients, and if your pup is doing better with raw, go with that. I've seen the Oma's Pride line touted here, but it's almost impossible to find in my area.

I eventually want to feed raw at some point, but not for a while. Just trying to check my options because there are a lot of opinions out there as to which is the best way.

I use it from time to time. Just wish it weren't so darn costly. They have two grain free products available. One is "complete" and includes turkey. http://www.sojos.com/food.html

Quite a few people swear by Honest Kitchen. That's another good food that I've used but I don't care for the smell so I'll stick with Sojo's:devil2:

I fed this for awile. With the grain free sojo the only thing I added (besides meat)was salmon oil and something for Joints. But I add that with everything I feed.

However I liked the honest kitchen much better then sojo for a complete diet. Just add some extra meat .
