Sleep paralysis

Anyone get this? I've had what I assume is this a few times in the last year...basically waking up and not being able to move, no matter how hard I try. But I'm not sure I'm 100% awake, maybe I just think I'm awake but am dreaming. Very weird.

Just curious.

My mother had this a few times. I think it is a shift-work side effect with some people. She was terrified when it happened to her. She opened her eyes, but had no control over her body. She was told to get more sleep....Hahaha....a nurse with 3 kids getting MORE sleep?

My husband has had this happen a few times, they said the same thing to him: Sleep more, and make sure when you do sleep it is more 'restful'. Anyway it doesn't happen alot, and hasn't in a long time, but usually after a long work week or an especially stressful one. HTH

i had that happen twice, it was while i was asleep though, and it was during a time when i kept getting tonns of broken up sleep.
i suspect it was due to unrest! LOL

Hey, well that makes sense, I had broken up sledep last night because Jed got up early to go to work and I kept waking up and falling back to sleep when he was coming in and out of the room getting ready. Then he left and I fell asleep and then woke up but couldn't move!

It's a really weird sensation though! Sounds quite common actually. Thanks for the info guys!

Amy living with a 3rd shift cop who had a lot of comp time, he was constantly up and down, so with that i was lucky to get three hours of solid sleep.
i noticed and believe it is your subconscious, and it is freaky.
i hated that feeling! arrrggggggg
