Shampoos?!?!?!HELP

OK I just spent about 45 mins looking at shampoos at petsmart for the furry ones and now I am totally completely confused!!!

Any reccommendations for the group on best brand, best type (IE:tearless,shampoo & conditioner combined, oatmeal, etc)

Also if there is one your really like please let me know where I could most likely find it.

Ok, I am a groomer and I have a thing against buying shampoos from Walmart or petsmart. If you want to get a good shampoo visit your local groomer or vet and they will help you select the proper shampoo for your Newf. I get all my shampoos from a company in Idaho called Spectrum laboratories. You can call and talk to a sales rep (Steve is my sells rep--very nice guy) at 1-800-752-3241 or visit their website at www.spectrumlaboratories.com I especially like their conditioning shampoo and their amazoats shampoo. They carry 2 oatmeal shampoos one for skin (amazoats) and one for coat (coatmeal) the difference is how the oatmeal is processed(cooked or cold compressed)

Thanks for responding I was really hoping you would.

So I could benefit from your expertise as not only a groomer but a Newfy owner. I have never taken either of the girls to a groomer I've been doing it myself and using people shampoo which I was figuring isnt the best for them. I looked in the Dr Foster & Smiths catalog but its like trying to get shampoo for yourself. Way to many choices!! I really appreciate your info & I'm gonna check out that website you suggested.

I love specturm labs shampoos and also absolutly LOVE Blue Minx made by proline shampoo.
i like the aloe vera and the many other formulas that spectrum labs make

I KRING every time I hear someone using people shampoo on dogs!! NOT GOOD. By the way I am not the only groomer/newf owner on this list, but I appreciate the compliment.

I like Lambert Kay,Fresh and clean shampoo, keeps their coat smelling good longer. And for conditioner, i like Biogroom,Super Cream coat conditioner ,closes the hair shaft on the long coat to keep it from drying out, getting brittle and staining . And Clairol( yes people shampoo)Shimmering lights (used on landseers and on tuggs white star to keep white and get the yellow out. works for me and last i have found that Show Sheen found in saddlery shops helps get tangles out of their coats Bridget
